Victims of Crimes get victimized twice, once by the original criminal, and then by the city. Vandalism and theft is out of control. Car theft is out of control. Springfield Police are much better at arresting people who try to prevent car theft than they are the car thief.
Under laws passed by our incompetent legislature the city police are not required to prevent crime, arrest criminals, nor to protect property or people. One might reasonablely ask why we pay taxes. People who refuse to be victims are paying taxes so that Springfield cops can arrest them for doing nothing more than protecting their property.

While the victim may have his day in court and prove his innocence, he must pay a high-priced justice system to defend himself. Republicrats on the City Council tolerate this situation because it puts money in the pockets of their associates.
Because the City police are not required to make arrests they can pick and choose which laws to enforce and against whom. So the car owner may end up being arrested and while the car thief never gets arrested..

The Harsh reality is that the City is not obligated to protect you. Despite the high taxes we pay for “protection” Under Republicrat laws they can choose to protect the criminal. When it comes to arresting vicitims the City Council and the Finance Control Board and the legislature are in compete agreement. They want us to be victims and make us pay for more ideas that will not work.

As a City Councilor I would not be able to change laws the Republicrat Legislatures have made to protect the patronage system. But I could publicize the failure of the police to protect the public, as well as blaming the City Council , the Finance Control Board, the Commissioner, the Mayor and our legislative delegation. For many being held responsible for the acts of their friends whom they have given our money will be a new experience.
